#The Social Network (Two-Disc Collector’s Edition)# Best Cheap Discount Sales Reviews
Product Feature
- SOCIAL NETWORK
Product Overview
They all laughed at college nerd Mark Zuckerberg, whose idea for a social-networking site made him a billionaire. And they all laughed at the idea of a Facebook movie–except writer Aaron Sorkin and director David Fincher, merely two of the more extravagantly talented filmmakers around. Sorkin and Fincher’s breathless picture, The Social Network, is a fast and witty creation myth about how Facebook grew from Zuckerberg’s insecure geek-at-Harvard days into a phenomenon with 500 million users. Sorkin frames the movie around two lawsuits aimed at the lofty but brilliant Zuckerberg (deftly played by Adventureland’s Jesse Eisenberg): a claim that he stole the idea from Ivy League classmates, and a suit by his original, now slighted, business partner (Andrew Garfield). The movie follows a familiar rise-and-fall pattern, with temptation in the form of a sunny California Beelzebub (an expert Justin Timberlake as former Napster founder Sean Parker) and an increasingly tangled legal mess. Emphasizing the legal morass gives Sorkin and Fincher a chance to explore how unsocial this social-networking business can be, although the irony seems a little facile. More damagingly, the film steers away from the prickly figure of Zuckerberg in the latter stages–and yet Zuckerberg presents the most intriguing personality in the movie, even if the movie takes pains to make us understand his shortcomings. Fincher’s command of pacing and his eye for the clean spaces of Aughts-era America are bracing, and he can’t resist the technical trickery involved in turning actor Armie Hammer into privileged Harvard twins (Hammer is letter-perfect). Even with its flaws, The Social Network is a galloping piece of entertainment, a smart ride with smart people… who sometimes do dumb things. –Robert Horton

#Disney’s 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea (Two-Disc Special Edition)# Best Cheap Discount Sales Reviews
In 1866, Professor Aronnax and his assistant find themselves talked into taking a sea voyage to prove or disprove the existence of a rumored sea monster terrorizing ships in the Pacific. Also on the voyage is a boisterous and skeptical harpooner named Ned Land. It seems to be smooth sailing for their vessel, until their time is nearly up and they finally encounter the talked about monster. However, what they discover turns out to be something far more amazing! The professor and his two companions soon find themselves the reluctant “guests” of a mysterious man called Captain Nemo who has harnessed an amazing power to drive an unbelievable vehicle through and below the ocean waters. Nemo has become a veritable king of the ocean, and Professor Aronnax is eager to learn the secrets to his mastery of the sea, but all his assistant and Ned want to do is get back on dry land and away from Nemo, who seems to be more than a little unstable.
An absolute masterpiece of filmmaking that holds up beautifully to this day, “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” is truly one of Walt Disney’s proudest achievements. The most expensive film ever made in its day, its effects still impress and the world of Captain Nemo still manages to completely envelope the viewer. It’s a true experience of a film, and a fascinating one. The performances are nothing short of brilliant. I’ve seen the film criticized for its comedic and musical moments (by folks clearly desperate to find something to pick on about the film), but these complaints hold little water. Yes, there’s a song; ONE song, and it fits well into the context of the movie. It’s a sailor entertaining the crew, not someone bursting out into random croon. The humor is not complaint worthy either, as it again fits well into the context of the film and is nothing ridiculous by any means. This is pretty much a perfect film. The music, the detailed design of every aspect, the incomparable stars (James Mason, Kirk Douglas, Peter Lorre, Paul Lukas), the legendary giant squid sequence; It’s all outstanding and unforgettable, and just plain masterful. Directed by Richard Fleischer from the book by Jules Verne, and released in 1954, “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” could change the way the average viewer thinks about classic Disney, especially classic Disney live-action. And whether you’re a Disney fan or not, if you love movies, this one deserves a place on your shelf.
Disney has nearly outdone themselves with this 2 disc release, too. Apparently following in the footsteps of the earlier Vault Disney releases, this “Special Edition” holds a vault of special features all its own. With a fantastic behind the scenes featurette like Disney has never given before on its classic live-action film releases, some delightful supplementary featurettes on subjects like giant squid, merchandise from the film, the wonderful music, and Jules Verne’s connection to Walt Disney, the expected but often overlooked theatrical trailer, extensive galleries and deleted footage, a tour of the Nautilus, audio clips, a Disney Yearbook segment, storyboard comparisons, text info, and even the fantastic Donald Duck Cinemascope cartoon that originally accompanied the film (Grand Canyonscope, a delightful romp through the Grand Canyon with Donald and Ranger Woodlore), oh yes, and even an amazing director audio commentary, this DVD release serves up a fantastic load of extras. However, it still falls short in the bonus features department for two reasons. One: An excerpt from one of the Disneyland anthology series episodes, “Monsters of the Deep” is shown. This frustrates me. Why not give us the whole episode? I always am annoyed when they do this. But even worse, there was another episode that was basically a promo for the film itself. The episode was called “Operation Undersea”, and though it was basically an hour-long commercial for “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea”, it was so good it won an Emmy. Why isn’t this on the disc? It was mentioned in the bonus material and would seem like a no brainer to be included here. Alas, so close to a perfect DVD release from Disney, but the ball was still dropped in this department.
Nevertheless, this 2-disc Special Edition is a MUST OWN for the film itself and all the outstanding bonus features it DOES have. Now, a short time back, a rerelease of this film to DVD was announced. I recently read that the rerelease has been rescheduled and might be coming out this year after all. So, be wary, as sometimes Disney’s rereleases lack some of the bonus features that were on the previous release. I don’t know if the rerelease, if it DOES get released after all, will be 1 disc or 2, but either way, there’s a chance, as with the similar Witch Mountain rerelease, that a bonus feature or two, probably some very significant one(s) for fans, will disappear. So, for safety’s sake, you may want to pick this edition up now, especially since the price has been so nice lately. Now, we can always hope that the next release will include “Operation Undersea”, but, well, I wouldn’t get my hopes up against that. Either way, go out and get this film! You won’t regret it!
Product Overview
Climb aboard the Nautilus … and into a strange undersea world of spellbinding adventure! Kirk Douglas, Paul Lukas, and Peter Lorre star as shipwrecked survivors taken captive by the mysterious Captain Nemo, brilliantly portrayed by James Mason. Wavering between genius and madness, Nemo has launched a deadly crusade across the seven seas. But can the captive crew expose his evil plan before he destroys the world? Disney’s brilliant Academy Award(R)-winning (1955, Best Art Direction and Best Special Effects) adaptation of Jules Verne’s gripping tale makes 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA a truly mesmerizing masterpiece!

Great Classic – Dustin Logan –
It’s great to see this classic film on widescreen DVD. It felt like I was watching the action for the first time! In the past, I had never caught this movie anywhere but on commercial TV (edited, non-letterbox, and chopped to death with commercials). Needless to say, the DVD is a much more enjoyable experience. Also love all of the extras, the commentaries, the how-it-was-made segments, etc. Hard to believe that they could produce a film like this, all the way back in 1954.

An Adventure Worth Seeing – David Lucero – California, USA
I cannot believe how timeless this classic remains. 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea continues to capture the imagination of us all. Much as I like Kirk Douglas, James Mason steals the show as Captain Nemo, the crazed creator of the Nautilus whose thirst for revenge has corrupted his soul. The special effects earned its well-deserved Oscar and the DVD version is fabulous. I displayed this movie in our showroom at my work and customers and associates loved it!
David Lucero, author of THE SANDMAN ([...])

This was probably Jacque Costeau’s favorite movie! – Rose Monica –
Well, I loved the book when I read it in high school, and the movie is a spectacular film version that remains about 90% faithful to the book by Verne. The special effects are, for the ’50’s top notch and the cast is PERFECT for the film.
You will, for a few wonderful hours, believe that an inventor, Captain Nemo, could actually invent and build an atomic powered submarine in the 1870’s in order to wage a one man war against the most powerful naval force of that time (Great Britain) AND also be winning that war as his submarine functions as a giant torpedo that can ram and tear its way through the wooden hulls of his enemy’s warships to send them down to Davy Jones locker along with all of their weapons.
James Mason is perfect as Captain Nemo and Kirk Douglas’ portrayal of Ned Land the harpooner is very believable. Peter Lorre offers some nice comic relief as Consei the secretary to the overly idealistic marine biologist who, along with Land and Consei, is picked up by the Nautilus submarine’s crew and gets (along with the audience) to share an adventure with them in Nemo’s undersea realm.
So, if you have not seen this film before, then you really should. But, don’t be surprised if, after viewing it, you feel the urge to join some marine research team so you can explore the ocean bottom in one of those deep submersible vehicles!

#Pulp Fiction (Two-Disc Collector’s Edition)# Best Cheap Discount Sales Reviews
I think Quentin creates films that are masterpieces of creativity, just like Kubrick uses imagery. This film has really great characters who just come across with dialog that doesnt so much ring with wit but with imagination. The film uses actors who just turn their roles into scene stealers again and again. It is about gangsters who work for the big boss Maurice. Maurice doesnt show up too much except for a cat and mouse run that turns into a trial of shame and pain for this heavyweight criminal. Willis doesnt say too much, but he reflects his nonverbal as stoic until he turns into a baby talker with his uniquely attractive french girlfriend with a very round apple face. The two main thugs are Fishburne and Travolta, they both do a good job. I like the way Fishburne uses his speech and articulates so eloquently, he finally feels his bible verse during a murder raid, which will change his life. He decides to become a savior to another mixed up couple during a coffee shop burgler gone wrong. Travolta and Thurman are the most inventive and I loved when they share an intimate outing with drugs overtaking the real connection. They do the twist at a rock a billy diner with the old caddy cars as booths for the lucky few. Keitel plays an organized yuppie sweeper almost seen as godlike by his fame of handling dirty jobs so perfectly. He has a short take but its another creme de le creme character. The things I liked were the cool connection of the Travolta and Thurman, the twist and the fun of showing off their style. I liked Thurmans camera director meeting with him. She displays this air of creativity and in the moment fun even though on a high. Filming is fun, I liked to do little short character takes or shooting your friends like an interview. It was different. I liked the coffee shop. I liked the motel with the anonimity and intimacy they shared, with the overcast skies. I liked the thought of a big breakfast with blueberry pancakes and sausages with lots of maple syrup. I liked that they could go anywhere and experience great adventures like Bora Bora. I liked that Willis went back to help the oppressor out of so much degradation. I liked the way Fishburne wanted to walk the planet, meeting others sharing moments and being open to life. A must see flick.
Product Overview
Critics and audiences worldwide hailed PULP FICTION as the star-studded picture that redefined cinema in the 20th Century! Writer/director Quentin Tarantino (Academy Award(R) Winner — Best Original Screenplay, 1994) delivers an unforgettable cast of characters — including a pair of low-rent hit men (John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson), their boss’s sexy wife (Uma Thurman), and a desperate prizefighter (Bruce Willis) — in a wildly entertaining and exhilarating motion picture adventure that both thrills and amuses!

If you like slime-balls, you’ll love this movie – Mr. Critical – Cleveland, OH
Philosopher Hannah Arendt’s phrase “the banality of evil” comes to mind. I just can’t get interested in shallow, repetitive antics of such characters.
You can throw in clever dialog, cinematic techniques, A-list stars until you are blue in the face; but the utter hallowness of the movie remains.

Love It!!! – Jamisha King – MEMPHIS, TN, US
Bought this movie for my friend and he loves it. It is one of his all time favorite movies!!!

Like it – Chicoodee – Lompoc
Bought this for my husbands birthday and it was good. Initially when we watched it I thought, hmm, I wish this was a directors cut or unedited or something. After then watching the 2nd disc and hearing the method behind the madness of deleting parts the director had, it made the movie more complete and understandably enjoyable.
I was a little bummed by the box it came in. It arrived warped.
