#Home Movies – Season One# Best Cheap Discount Sales Reviews
I remember first watching Home Movies on Adult Swim(who was also in its early stages of development) and thinking “Hm, this show is kinda funny.”(What an understatement.) Every Sunday and Thursday they would run this show, I watched it and it grew on me. Season One is one of the best seasons featuring some of the most hilarious outtakes from the the gang. “Brendan Gets Rabies”, “Law and Borders”, “Art of the Sucker Punch”, and “Through a Fish Eye Lens” are some of my immediate favorites, but after watching any episode a number of times all of them could become my favorites.
Another great aspect of home movies are the cool musical numbers placed in some of the eps performed by the dim-witted Duane and his band Scab. For instance in “Law and Borders”, Brendon is sentenced to write an essay explaining to the judge how he was sorry for causing the accident he was involved in. Instead the kids decide to make a hilarious, dramatized spoof of the accident and then the kids rock out at the end: “Don’t hit children don’t run them over, let them live their lives let them get older!x2 Brendon’s cool, he didn’t break the rules, he was just riding his bike, they tried to take his life!” That was an epic win!
If you’re a true fan of this series and you’re tired of waiting for reruns on AS or frustrated with waiting for videos to load on youtube or veoh, do yourself justice and treat yourself with this awesome dvd set.
Product Overview

Excellent series! – Chainsmoke – IN USA
This shows might look stupid at first glance, but give it a chance. It looked like crap to me at first, but when I started watching it, I fell in love with it. I like Brendon Small and his overly dramatic life. I like his dedication to his movies, and how even though his movies are terrible, he doesn’t know it. And it’s funny watching 8-year-old Brendon treat the events of his life as though they are all serious situations that must be analyzed. Jason is hilarious with all the off the wall things he says. Coach McGuirk is my favorite character of all. He says what he wants, often making himself look like a complete idiot, though he thinks he knows it all. He hates soccer and children, yet he teaches children’s soccer. It’s especially funny how he confides his problems in his only true friend, Brendon. Maybe it’s cause the coach is really just a big child himself. The comedic chemistry between the two is always laugh-out-loud great.
So buy this season and the three that followed, or just get the complete series set. I promise, this is a show worth owning every episode of.

Home Movies Season 1-Used – Samantha Lynn Brickles – Indianapolis, IN. USA
Although this product was used, it is in excellent condition, and plays perfectly. The cover is in great shape. The shipping was pretty quick too. Overall, I’m very pleased!

Best. Show. Ever. – Carlee J. Weimer – Chicago, IL US of A
Home Movies is one of the funniest shows I’ve ever seen, and the humor is so intelligent, which makes it even better.

#The Final Season# Best Cheap Discount Sales Reviews
I like sports drama and own a bunch of them. This is one of the very best.
Why? It is well-filmed, well-directed, well-acted, and it is a real story. Well, well, well. Look up “Norway Baseball” and you get the whole story. The screenplay and the film that came from it are remarkably true to that story. Sure. The story is of a school competing in the smallest school division and the competition at that level is very different from that in the largest divisions, but Norway baseball was legendary. Its head coach was a legend. Its players were picked up time and again to fill rosters in colleges with strong programs.
19 State Titles was the source of extraordinary pride. And then the school board came to a very difficult decision. Here the film plays the members as true villains and that is unfortunate because schools the size of Norway in communities the size of its little farm town do not have the resources needed in a modern high school. Merger with another nearby school with a more up-to-date physical plant and room to grow. Merger was necessary, BUT there was a strange effort made to make the last season less dramatic by gutting the baseball team. Leadership on the Board did not want the baseball team to emerge as a gathering point for continued resistance to the merger. So, the legendary head coach was released and replaced by a young rookie with very little experience. A number of key players did not come out for the team in its final playing season.
The coach ends up being a natural coach. He forges a team whose chemistry is initially difficult. The right players emerge. Virtually none of the drama is manufactured for the film. Check out the newspapers. A strong start is followed by a big slump. A timely push back is good enough to get them into the state playoffs. The team is an underdog up against far larger programs with amazing talent that manages to win the baseball way: sound defensive play, a smart line-up, good scouting, a couple of very talented kids, a bunch of less talented but solid players, and big fan support.
Background stories are equally compelling as a spoiled and angry city-kid is transformed by his coach, his grandparents and his team…..and then meets his father on the field of play, real common ground. A bus driver, a priest, a couple of sports reporters and a girl friend each provided another story that makes the BIG STORY work.
Lastly, there are no ultra-dramatic, over the top, I-Can’t-Believe-It moments. These moments are common devices in sports drama. They generate big moments for big feelings. There are lots of little moments that feel very real: mock bets between a pitcher and a catcher, a heart patient/bus driver who sneaks into the championship game, the fired coach returning for the last game, an often disheartened relief pitcher who is scared to death of the opposing pitcher’s fast ball but still manages to crowd the plate at a critical moment, a coach who falls in love with a state official who has endorsed the school merger, and so much more.
In the back of the informed viewer’s mind is the knowledge that these moments actually took place. Yeah, there is some condensing of action. There is fictionalized dialogue. There are combined characters. But, overall the truth wills out.
This film belongs on your shelf. Watch it with young athletes and discuss it. It’s amazing what they have to say. Watch it with your family just for fun.
Product Overview
From the director of The Sandlot comes the true story of an underdog coach and the team that must defend their legacy against insurmountable odds. In the small town of Norway, Iowa, the high school baseball team, led by legendary Coach Jim Van Scoyoc (Powers Boothe, TV’s Deadwood), has won 19 State Championships. But the small town heroes are dealt a series of unexpected blows that threaten to rob them of their 20th championship win. When talk of a school merger gets serious and Coach Scoyoc is fired, then replaced by his 24-year-old assistant, Kent Stock (Sean Astin, Rudy and The Lord of the Rings trilogy), failure seems inevitable. Tom Arnold, Rachael Leigh Cook and Michael Angarano join an excellent ensemble cast in this inspirational family gem.

The Final Season – punky –
This is a great movie. My entire family has met many people from this small community and we have become friends with the real Coach and the woman who runs the baseball museum.

Sure Fire Winner – Larry Fryer – Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
This is one GREAT movie. Extremely well filmed, each actor (adult and youth) does an excellent job. You finish with that “fired up,” life is great feeling. Iowa never looked so beautiful. A MUST SEE !

The Final Season – Michael A. Trivelli – New Jersey
Great movie about a little town in midwest, small school that produces championship caliber baseball players. You can watch it over and over again.

Be careful, very careful my friend! – T-Mac – H-Town
I have not used this cc in over 2 years. I had my wallet at work, decided to break out an another old card out of the sock drawer. Over
a week later a dispute on an unauthorized charge on my cc….It could happen anywhere, just be very careful my friend!!

#Spartacus: Blood and Sand – The Complete First Season [Blu-ray]# Best Cheap Discount Sales Reviews
Recently, while watching a movie, a trailer for a different film called my attention. It had almost the same awesome production design and photography of “300,” a picture that I truly enjoyed. It turned out that the trailer was not about a film; rather, it was about a TV original series. And what a find it was! “Spartacus – Blood and Sand, the Complete First Season” is what grandiose and majestic entertainment is all about.
The DVD set features all thirteen episodes from the first season, each one approximately fifty minutes long. It properly begins from the beginning, when we first meet Spartacus (not his name at the time), inside a dirty cell, just before he goes out and fight for his life as a gladiator in front of thousands of people that enjoy the killing and dismembering of other human beings. While sitting alone, he begins remembering the conditions that took him there in first place. We are taken back to those happy years, when he enjoyed the love of his wife Sura (Erin Cummings), but his town was always in constant danger from the enemy. Unwillingly, his people – The Thracian — form an alliance with the Romans, who also happen to share the same enemy (the Getae). Unfortunately, the Romans betray their allies, and Spartacus and his wife are separated, both becoming slaves. Spartacus is sent to Capua, in Italy, where he is ordered to be slaughtered in the gladiator arena. However, he survives and quickly becomes a commodity in the gladiator market. Although still a slave, he apparently has the opportunity of getting his freedom back one day, depending on his success as a gladiator.
Spartacus is then sent to a ludus, a place where gladiators are trained, owned by the manipulative and brutal Batiatus (John Hannah), who prides himself of having the best gladiators in Capua. His right-hand man, also a slave, is Doctore (Peter Mensah), an impressive African and ex-gladiator who is in charge of training. Spartacus reluctantly accepts to become a gladiator, but accepts after Batiatus promises him to reunite him with his wife. From then on, seeing his wife again is Spartacus’ main motivation in life. What follows, then, is the history of Spartacus as a gladiator and all the things that he has to endure to survive. Each episode is unique, in which new characters are added or eliminated, and some we get to know very well. There are friendships and envies, love and lust, trust and backstabbing — the entire package that provides for a good series.
“Spartacus – Blood and Sand, the Complete First Season” is meant to introduce us to the Spartacus made famous on film by Kirk Douglas, and the series focuses on his early, formative years, and how he became a leader in the uprising of the slaves against the Roman Empire. But, contrary to the movie version, this series is crude and very much realistic, as well as for mature audiences, with as much blood as you care to see, with plenty nudity and sexual situations, just the way it was during those gruesome years. At the same time, we learn history the hard way. Andy Whitfield shines as Spartacus, as well as the rest of the formidable cast, including Manu Bennett, Lucy Lawless and Nick E. Tarabay. It’s all great, addictive entertainment. The DVD set is loaded with extras, like audio commentaries, behind-the-scenes, gladiator boot camps, and much, much more. (USA, 2010, color, 692 mins).

Product Overview
Betrayed by the Romans. Forced into slavery. Reborn as a Gladiator. The classic tale of the Republic’s most infamous rebel comes alive in the graphic and visceral new series, Spartacus: Blood and Sand. Torn from his homeland and the woman he loves, Spartacus is condemned to the brutal world of the arena where blood and death are primetime entertainment. But not all battles are fought upon the sands. Treachery, corruption, and the allure of sensual pleasures will constantly test Spartacus. To survive, he must become more than a man. More than a gladiator. He must become a legend.

must own – jbiv16 –
For anybody who loved the movie “300″ or the HBO series “Rome” I highly recommend this DVD. I liked it so much that I almost called into work sick on Monday so that I could finish the series that I had started the previous day. I’m sure most women will not be floored by this but my girlfriend wasn’t turned off by it. It is aptly named Blood and Sand and you should probably add guts, gore, and pure awesomeness to the title.

So far…so good! – Mr. Z C – Los Angeles, CA USA
I just finished the first 3 episodes and man did I get hooked on already! It’s got action, blood/gore and sex! It’ll keep your heart pumping at all times!

VERY Entertaining and well made! Another Female perspective… – Touch of Class –
I had heard this compared to 300 which I personally did not care for. Way off! Spartacus takes the scenes from Rome and The Tudors that alot of people really liked and builds an entire series around this. Well Directed and Acted with plenty of Action, Suspense and from a Female perspective “easy on the eyes” Spartacus DELIVERS! You will find plenty of Deception and Drama as in The Tudors and Rome so you really cannot go wrong!
