#The Human Centipede# Best Cheap Discount Sales Reviews
I followed this project from the beginning stages, drawn in by the revolting originality of Tom Six’s vision. My hopes weren’t too high, I’ll admit, and they dropped even further once the hype storm began and all anyone wanted to talk about was the film’s squick factor. I expected gross, funny camp at best, but when I finally got around to watching The Human Centipede, I found that it is actually a very nice addition to the body horror genre. While none of the characters are exactly LIKABLE, their plight inspires a truly engrossing mixture of fear and pity. I found myself feeling for all of the characters. Even Dr. Heiter, played astonishingly well by Dieter Laser, became an object of my sympathy.
Those of you who AREN’T typically fans of Horror should probably avoid this one. You’ll be disappointed if you go in looking for a quick gross-out and a laugh. The ending’s a doozie.
Product Overview
100% Medically accurate.
The compelling simplicity of Saw. The stylish dread of Eraserhead. The black humor of A Nightmare On Elm Street. Those are the benchmarks of horror that the outrageous Dutch film The Human Centipede matches. The plot is diabolically simple: two stranded American tourists are given shelter by a famed German doctor (a maniacally intense Dieter Laser) who made his fortune surgically separating conjoined twins. Now his mad genius is pushing the doctor to do the reverse. He tells the women that they will be surgically attached to a Japanese businessman mouth to buttocks, one after the other and thus will be born a new creature: the human centipede! Compellingly perverse, hilarious, and shockingly straightforward, Dutch director Tom Six s new film is hands-down the most memorable horror film of the year.

it’s only shocking if you allow it to be shocking… – cd-heaven – rock n roll heaven
My wife and I watched this a while ago, and to be honest with you it wasn’t all that sickening, or scary, or gross as it’s made out to be (i.e. trailers). I’ve seen scarier and grosser horror films than this…the actor who played the doctor was really good, creepy and the centipede actors were really into it, but seriously it was more laughable than anything…no spoilers or give aways from me….but in the end, the movie was disappointing as I watched the trailer and the internet hype this movie has received was extrodinary…see for yourself. Worth a rental but not a purchase.

It’s SAW Meets A BUG’S LIFE! – LP Quagmire – Canada
The “filmmakers” behind THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE decided there are two kinds of people in the world: those who love the cheery ingenuity of movies like Pixar’s A BUG’S LIFE, and the other, the loyal minions who gleefully flock to each new gross-out installment of the SAW franchise. Why not combine the two disparate groups into one irresistible package? So it is that we have THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE, the opening salvo in what is sure to be a long and highly profitable series of “How low can they go?” cinema. Truly the stuff an accountant’s dreams are made of.

PLLLLLEEEEEASE! THIS IS SO STUPID! – Scott B. Saul – COOPER CITY, FL USA
For a movie to be suspenseful or scary, there must be some semblance of applicability, that it could happen to the viewer. While life can very unpredictable, you should not fear having your face sewn into somebody else’s rear end.
The premise is too ridiculous for this film. If this film was satirical, I would give it more credence.
I can relate to people getting wasted, and while they are imbibing, somebody saying “wouldn’t it be funny to sew asses to mouthes”. However, that is not what this movie is. It’s not Frankenhooker, Eraserhead, ZOmbie strippers, Killer Klowns, etc. It takes itself seriously. That is it’s downfall. The premise must be metaphorical for some oddball anger issues atht the creator must have.
Anyway, there is no suspense or scares in this silly movie.
It is soooooooooooo stupid that I am embarassed that I am familiar with it. If your friend/significant other is into this movie then you should run the other way.

#You Can Heal Your Life, the movie, expanded version# Best Cheap Discount Sales Reviews
Louise Hay has made a positive difference in my life and those I serve as a therapist. Visualizing what one wants and moving towards it are simple but difficult tasks for many. Particularly in addiction where people first go through the physical detox and then the mental detox which takes much longer. People relapse due to being conditioned often for many years by negative event with resulting depression and low self esteem. Changing ones emotional responses is difficult and requires practice, repetition. This DVD offers an realizable change in outlook through examples, discussion and great interviews in the enhanced version. My most recent purchase of this was as a wonderful, much appreciated gift to a friend. Thank you Louise Hay.
Product Overview
90-minute DVD, plus 4 hours of additional interviews and an Interactive Affirmations Tool! This entertaining and inspirational movie based on the best-selling book of the same name is hosted by author and teacher Louise L. Hay. This film gives penetrating insights into Louises fascinating personal story; and shows how her views on self-esteem, abundance, and the metaphysical causes behind physical ailments were developed. It also reveals how she applied these concepts to her own emotional, spiritual, and professional life. A number of luminaries in the fields of self-help, philosophy, health, spirituality, and New Thought join Louise, giving their take on success, happiness, and the myriad ways in which people can heal their own lives.

Thank you, Louise!!!!

Don’t understand all these 5 star reviews…. – S. Tate – WA
I find it hard to believe that there are so many 5 star reviews for this movie. I wouldn’t be surprised if some reviews were being deleted. I have read the book “You Can Heal Your Life” and was impressed by it and moved by Louise Hay. I believe we do create our lives based on our thoughts and have been looking into this. From what I have found so far, it seems that there is now an entire genre of self help law of attraction type books out there, all promoting the same thing. They now make movies where you have authors commenting on certain subjects being discussed (“The Secret” and “You Can Heal Your Life” are 2 examples). No one else finds it a little suspicious that Louise’s publishing company, Hay House, is the publisher of almost all of these people’s books? I think it is a marketing scheme, people watch the movie and want to change their lives, so they look up some of the authors, who of course just happen to be Hay House authors.
All of the law of attraction supporters do know what they’re talking about, but what people are failing to realize is that they are attracting their money by getting us to buy their stupid books and DVDs. If this movie had impressed me in some way I probably would have let the marketing slide a little. But there wasn’t much new information in this DVD that I didn’t get from the book (there’s way more info in the book). At times I was bored by the movie and did not understand the point. Oh, and lets not forget the promotion of Louise’s affirmation cards in the movie.

This is a Must for Anyone Who Feels “Lost” – D. Polton – Aledo, IL
My husband had died sudddenly a year ago, and I was having trouble dealing with anything and everything. My self-esteem was low, energy was low, hopes were low. This video gave me hope, inspiration, and so many suggestions on how to get my life back on track. I’d read a couple of Louise’s books, but hearing her story was more powerful. I highly recommend this video.

#The Night of the Hunter (The Criterion Collection) [Blu-ray]# Best Cheap Discount Sales Reviews
This has to be one of the greatest and most unique films in all American movie history. Unlike bare-bones editions of the past, the new DVD and Blu-Ray versions from Criterion offer us plenty to cheer about.
According to Criterion, the new transfer features:

- New documentary featuring interviews with producer Paul Gregory, Sanders, Jones, and author Jeffrey Couchman
- New video interview with Simon Callow, author of Charles Laughton: A Difficult Actor
- Clip from the The Ed Sullivan Show, in which cast members perform live a scene that was deleted from the film
- Fifteen-minute episode of the BBC show Moving Pictures about the film
- Archival interview with cinematographer Stanley Cortez
- Gallery of sketches by author Davis Grubb
- New video conversation between Gitt and film critic Leonard Maltin about Charles Laughton Directs “The Night of the Hunter”
- Original theatrical trailer
PLUS: A booklet featuring essays by critics Terrence Rafferty and Michael Sragow
Product Overview
The Night of the Hunter—incredibly, the only film the great actor Charles Laughton ever directed—is truly a standalone masterwork. A horror movie with qualities of a Grimm fairy tale, it stars a sublimely sinister Robert Mitchum (Cape Fear, The Friends of Eddie Coyle) as a traveling preacher named Harry Powell (he of the tattooed knuckles), whose nefarious motives for marrying a fragile widow, played by Shelley Winters (A Place in the Sun, The Diary of Anne Frank) are uncovered by her terrified young children. Graced by images of eerie beauty and a sneaky sense of humor, this ethereal, expressionistic American classic—also featuring the contributions of actress Lillian Gish (Intolerance, Duel in the Sun) and writer James Agee—is cinema’s quirkiest rendering of the battle between good and evil.

TERRIFYING!!!!!!!!!!! – Christopher G. Johnson – Hattiesburg MS
One of my Hollywood Heroes….The Great unpretentious Robert Mitchum….a Wonderful Underated Actor. And his depiction of this Evil Sociopathic Preacher is Amazing …The Acting …The Music …and the Direction from Charles Laughton …make this a Must see.. especially for Film Noir Fans.

AT LONG LAST, WHERE IT HAS NEEDED TO BE – E. D. DORSOGNA – williamsburg, virginia
I have long hoped that Criterion would get their hands on this film. I believe NIGHT OF THE HUNTER to be arguably the greatest film of the 1950s and, also arguably, one of the top 100 films of the sound era. I first saw this movie when I was about 13; it was shown on WNEW out of NYC and all chopped up by commercials. Even so, the film scared and impressed me. The film still holds me as an adult, and my wife and I make an annual ritual of watching it. Adulthood is possible the best vantage point to appreciate this film. Although children are held by the POV and the scary parts, adults can engage with the symbolism, the beautiful photography, the sublime performances (and the scary parts); plus, as an adult, I always well up with tears when Lillian Gish shows up. Of course, the only available DVD has been the stripped down MGM version, so the tought of having NIGHT revamped, cleaned up, and nestled with all those great sounding Criterion extras is a thrill.

Proper transfer for a top 100 film – edo san –
It’s a widely acknowledged classic. It belongs on any reasonably informed list of top 100 American films. The important thing with the Criterion transfer is that we finally get to see it full frame (1.66:1). The previous MGM transfer was 1.33:1. It will probably look better too. Lots of interesting extras but all this comes at a fairly hefty price.

Interesting, if amateurish film – Cookiewise – San Rafael, CA USA
A remake of the silent film Sparrows, which is FAR superior on every level, Night of the Hunter is more a historical curio than a good movie. The film student mistake of letting the visuals overtake the story makes Laughton’s directorial debut an amateurish experiment that falls FAR short of being anything other than a minor footnote in film history.

#Escaflowne – The Movie (Ultimate Edition 3-Disc Set)# Best Cheap Discount Sales Reviews
Being one of my favourite animes the Blu-Ray release of the Escflowne movie was always on my shopping list, despite owning the DVD already.
The film itself is a lot cleaner and with noticeably more detail in the darker scenes compared to the DVD, and it also comes with the added bonus that the Japanese track is now in Dolby 5.1 TrueHD. Therefore, I am not remotely disappointed by the Blu-Ray release and feel it was well worth picking up.
Thus, if you want to own Escaflowne the movie, the Blu-Ray is the only release to get imho.
Product Overview
Escaflowne is a sprawling adventure saga that infuses sword-and-sorcery and mecha elements into the popular “magical girl” anime genre. The girl is Hitomi Kanzaki (voice by Kelly Sheridan), a withdrawn teenager who wishes she could just leave everything behind and vanish. When she’s magically transported to the alternate world of Gaia, she gets her wish–in spades. The dashing Van (Kirby Morrow) of the White Dragon Clan is pitted against his twisted brother Folken (Paul Dobson), the leader of the Black Dragon Clan, in a succession war that threatens the very existence of Gaia. Hitomi is hailed as the long-awaited “Wing Goddess,” and her power over the invincible dragon-mecha suit Escaflowne confirms her status. Although the tangled story line has been pared down, the feature remains a reworking of the 26-part TV series The Vision of Escaflowne, which aired briefly on Fox Kids and is available on DVD. Fans of the television series will find that many of the familiar characters have been redesigned and reduced to minor roles, among them Allen, Princess Millerna, Dryden, Merle, Naria, and Eriya. Some of the story’s more outré elements have been dropped, but there are still more prophecies, conflicts, and relationships than the filmmakers can resolve satisfactorily in 96 minutes, despite a pat happy ending. Escaflowne boasts some impressive action sequences, which Kazuki Akane directs with panache. The film opens with a spectacular sword fight, as Van single-handedly dispatches the guards on an enemy airship to capture Escaflowne. MPAA rating: PG-13. Contains considerable violence. –Charles Solomon

ok movie, great soundtrack! – Daniel Meek – Ohio
The series that this movie belongs to is actuially one of my favorite shows ever. This movie is a re-telling of the series, not a continuation. They took the themes and arcatypical characters, and threw them into a more primal world. Sadly this lacks the depth of the series, which kinda ruins it for me, but the movie does have some good points. The soundtrack is absolutely stunning. I bought the version with the sound track included because it was cheaper than paying the -50 for the music alone. In fact, the soundtrack is really the only reason I got the movie. The video itself is beautiful, and will be perfect for the blue ray release coming out in spite of it not being a newer movie. The English cast is much better than the series, but still rather rough (more on the side of the scripting than the actors themselves; perfect example is that of the “are you the wing goddess?” followed by someone saying “YOU ARE THE WING GODDESS” and poor hitomi crying “I dont know!”).
Sadly I will probably only watch this show once more when it comes out on blue-ray to see the visuals, because the story (while a good idea) is actually that bad. I mean, you cant watch it before you watch the series as the old/cheap animation of the series will bother you after watching the movie. But at the same time you cannot watch the movie after the series because it ruins the characters, the story, and the general romantic wonder that is Escaflowne. But buy it for the soundtrack, it is worth it.

Escaflowne on Blu-Ray, better quality picture, the story just ok – Haunted Flower – Indianapolis
“Escaflowne” is the re-telling of the television series, “The Vision of Escaflowne”. A depressed high school student named Hitomi wishes to just fade away and is magically sucked into a world called Gaea where they called her their Wing Goddess. Multiple forces are struggling against each other there for control of powerful dragon armor that the Wing Goddess is supposed to control so they have to try and win her favor as she has the power to save them or destroy their world entirely.
Some of the rag-tag band she befriends includes a kitty-cat girl with a somewhat annoying voice and Van, the last of his kind that can wield a special power that runs in his genes.
What I liked most about this movie were the action sequences, fighting over Hitomi and getting to see the dragon armor being used. When a person enters the armor, they have to give blood for it to work so they are pierced all over their body and blood drains from them. For me, I thought that was a pretty powerful way to make the inhabitants sacrifice something before they go running off with a suit that can bring about so much destruction. Having a high price to pay means not just anyone would jump in it.
Hitomi is clearly depressed throughout and I’m not sure if she ever really overcame that. She said enough nice things to keep Van motivated and alive when he was hurt but I have this feeling that if she goes home to her own world, her outlook will not have changed.
There was pretty music, the plot was occasionally confusing. I never felt emotionally involved or connected to any characters. Only when they were fighting did there seem to be something worth cheering for. It was ok for one watching, but not close to the best I’ve seen.

Outstanding Movie, Worst product release ever – Wesley Gunder – Grand Prairie, Texas United States
I absolutely Love the Escaflownea Movie and series, however this is got to be the worst release in history the Video looks washed out & heavily pixelated. The video looks like they used a VHS tape as the master & thought we the users would not notice! Then there is the audio when is sound coming from 1 speaker and not the other 5 considered True HD 5.1. This is just another reason to prove that Bandai America and the F#&*%ed up Hominese should be shut down permanently and sell there licenses to companies that know what there are doing. If you see this product in a store don’t buy it, you will see better video results on the stuff on there youtube channel than this piece of garbage.

#2:22# Best Cheap Discount Sales Reviews
This film isn’t action packed, it doesn’t have a huge cast of A list actors, what it does have is a lot of heart. This is a film where you get to know the characters in their journey. They aren’t good guys but you still care about them and the others entangled in their craft. If you want a film that makes you think while enjoying the crazy story and characters in it then this is the film for you. What little action it does have is awesome, this film feels so real. The rave scene was great too! The ending has one of the most realistic death scenes ever too, just watch for yourself, great film!
Product Overview
Prepare to match wits with the most ingenious robbery of the year! Hardened criminal Gully Mercer (Mick Rossi) devises a foolproof plan for a snowy New Year s Eve heist at 2:22 A.M. at The Grange, a high-class hotel filled with a vault of valuable safety deposit boxes. Aided by a brilliant and eccentric jewelry mover (Heat s Val Kilmer) and three fellow thieves from his usual crew, the scheme involves tying up and impersonating the night staff except the hotel s demanding guests cause plenty of complications, including a frustrated drug dealer who starts making demands of his own. Soon their paths take unexpected turns as seemingly small mistakes lead to treachery, pursuit, and murder. Also featuring Robert Miano (Fast & Furious), Peter Dobson (Lakeshore Drive), and Bruce Kirby (Crash), this stylish, pulse-pounding thriller delivers powerful performances and one riveting twist on top of another.

Good Cast – But an Average Heist Flick – Compay – New Orleans, LA
If you’re a fan of heist movies like Heat and Ocean’s 11, then 2:22 probably won’t impress you. While the film has its rare moments, as well as a solid cast, it simply lacks any real spark.
For this being Phillip Guzman’s second film as a director, I have to give him credit for doing a decent job. There are some great cinematography moments, and a few clever shots that keep things interesting. Unfortunately, the writing by Guzman and lead actor Mick Rossi is average at best. Pointless subplots, weak attempts at suspense, and ridiculous coincidences are what kept this movie from being shown in theaters.
The marketing for this movie is also questionable. Val “Straight to DVD” Kilmer is prominently featured on the cover, next to a praising review snippet. Which is confusing given that Kilmer, playing a paranoid jeweler, gets exactly four minutes of screen time in this entire movie. Gabriel Byrne (Usual Suspects) has a “blink and you missed him” role. No one on the cast stands out, save for Robert Miano, best remembered as Sonny Red from Donnie Brasco. The most seasoned actor in the film, Miano has more than a few great scene-stealing moments. I was also surprised by newbie actress Sandy Duarte, one of the most gorgeous women that I’ve ever seen in film.
Bottom line, this is a fairly average heist flick. The heist team comes off looking like amateurs, and the film lacked any “edge of your seat” suspense. Give this one a rent before you decide to buy the DVD.

#Star Trek – The Original Crew Movie Collection (Special Edition)# Best Cheap Discount Sales Reviews
The Reason I say the best is because it is the one with all the extended cuts. The other collection on dvd just has the theatrical, even blu ray just has theatrical. so If you are looking for all the star trek original cast movies and care about the extended cuts, care for tons of extra commentaries. Then this is the one for you. Each movie has 2 discs one of the movie and another of speacial features. also one thing to note In the other collection Wrath of Khan was digitaly restored, but it doesn’t have the extended cut. that is the only one of the movies that would have better picture quality. I’m not sure about the other but this one is chock full of goodies. the only negative I can find with this after buying it is (and I’m really looking hard for negatives) The casing is a bit oversized. Otherwise I’d say Best collection!
Product Overview
Devoted Star Trek fans will surely cite the “even number” rule in evaluating the Original Crew Movie Collection, but all six of these films qualify as rousing entertainment. Undeniably, the even-numbered films in Paramount’s lucrative Trek franchise tended to be the best, as demonstrated by the superiority of The Wrath of Khan, The Voyage Home, and The Undiscovered Country. And yet each film has something to offer die-hard Trekkers, beginning with the epic-scale wonders of the first Motion Picture (presented here as a two-disc special edition). Evolving from Gene Roddenberry’s aborted attempt at a second Star Trek TV series, the effects-laden Motion Picture divided fans while proving that Star Trek had a promising big-screen future. Nicholas Meyer’s The Wrath of Khan made good on that promise, reviving the Star Trek spirit and proving, in the case of Mr. Spock, that beloved characters “never really die.” It’s widely regarded as the best of these half-dozen features.
With its deadly Klingon confrontation, the Leonard Nimoy-directed Search for Spock was a thrilling (albeit contrived) excuse for Spock’s inevitable resurrection, and its somber tone was readily countered by the Earth-based humor of Nimoy’s The Voyage Home, combining a planetary crisis with a lively–and phenomenally popular–time-travel plot line. Unfortunately, William Shatner then lobbied for the director’s chair, and The Final Frontier–an uneasy mixture of cheesy humor and grandiose themes–was the regrettable outcome. Paramount rallied by inviting Nicholas Meyer to repeat his Khan success, and Meyer rose to the occasion with the sharply scripted thrills of The Undiscovered Country. By ending the film with an official signature send-off from the “classic Trek” cast, the original crew brought their big-screen legacy to a graceful and upbeat conclusion, setting the stage for a transitional adventure in Star Trek: Generations. –Jeff Shannon

#Disney’s A Christmas Carol (Four-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo + Digital Copy and Blu-ray 3D)# Best Cheap Discount Sales Reviews
I really love this story and am especially a fan of Robert Zemeckis and his work. I find it hard to believe that some people were turned off by A Christmas Carol, but everyone is entitled to their opinion. I found there to be equal amounts of adults and children in the theater when I went to see this film. Couples ranging from late teens to middle age were there and laughing along with the kids. It was a lot of fun and I plan to purchase the Blu Ray when it’s available. I was a fan of The Polar Express and I’m a sucker for motion capture animation. I’ll rank this movie along with the Polar Express as one of my top classic Christmas movies. The Polar Express (Widescreen Edition)
Product Overview
From Walt Disney Pictures comes the magical retelling of Charles Dickens’ beloved tale — Disney’s A Christmas Carol, the high-flying, heartwarming adventure for the whole family, starring Jim Carrey. When three ghosts take penny-pinching Scrooge on an eye-opening journey, he discovers the true meaning of Christmas — but he must act on it before it’s too late. Complete with spirited bonus features, this exhilarating and touching Disney classic is destined to be part of your holiday tradition, adding sparkle and heart to all your Christmases yet to come.

More PC nonsense courtesy of Charles “Marx” Dickens – Rayscann –
Sweet lord, here we go again! Let’s take one successful businessman who believes you should work for a living. And it’s not like he lacks compassion. He gives his shiftless employee off for Christmas, even though that’s 24 hours that could have been spent making money … OK, whatever… I guess THAT’S not important! Anyway, he’s visited by the ghosts of Lenin, Stalin, and Roosevelt, who make him feel like some kind of fool for being a successful businessman and by the end, that successful businessman turns into a Communist, giving away his fortune to a bunch of people who deserved whatever misery they brought on themselves because they’re a bunch of shiftless, lazy good-for-nothings leeching off the state. C’mon, read your Bible! The Lord helps those that help themselves. I know, I know. You ask, “What about little Tiny Tim?” Well, what about him? Maybe that Bob Cratchit shouldn’t have dropped all that acid back in the day … Don’t be mistaken. Do you think it’s any coincidence that the star, Jim Carrey, originally came from Canada, the home of Socialized medicine? And that this film is being released during the big health care debate going on right now in Congress? Don’t let Jim’s new American citizenry fool you. Behind that American flag t-shirt beats a heart that looks like a maple leaf. You’ve been warned.

Zemeckis Makes Another One. – John B. Ludwick – Indianapolis, IN United States
Motion Capture gets slightly better with every film that Zemeckis makes, but why in California’s holy name does he keep making them? With Polar Express and this one, they are both stories which strain under his efforts to make them feature length through pointless lengthy action, overdramatic pauses, and obvious hamming on the CG process.
If you don’t know what I’m talking about, then observe as you and your friends look at each other saying, “why doesn’t he just get on with it?”, and sigh loudly as moments are stretched intolerably. There’s a “roller-coaster” sequence near the end that made me almost walk out on it. On the upside, the performance capture of Scrooge is pretty good, and each frame looks like a painting. So: hats off, Modelers, Lighting Directors, and Rigging Directors! Get out and support those guys, and look for the amazing, magical Geordie Martinez in the rigging and aniamtion credits, and shout “HUZZAH!”

Disappointed in no BluRay 3D – B. Brierly –
I always buy, what I think are special movies, in BluRay. I would like it in 3D but this is only offered in 2D. You have to buy the other set with theater type 3D plus new equipment to see it in 3D. I think that is a rip. Companies are always pushing new technology onto the public before their current technology is worn out. In this economy who has 3 to 4 thousand dollars to upgrade their equipment when they already have BluRay and HD hardware. Rich people I suppose. With a large chunk of the country out of work who do they think can buy the new hardware. The price of the BluRay sets aren’t that much different but is the cost of the hardware for the BluRay 3D set that makes it impossible. I don’t know who to fault for this, Disney, or the companies making the special 3D hardware. I don’t think this is going to be a profit maker for anyone. They should transition by offering a regular 3D in the set too for those of us that can’t afford new and expensive 3D equipment. I would rate the movie itself 5 stars but I rated the BluRays low becuae they don’t consider the common consumer with limited funds.
